Currie joins Oxford after leaving Wimbledon

Oxford United has announced the signing of full-back Jack Currie from AFC Wimbledon on a long-term deal. The 25-year-old made 45 appearances for the Dons in the 2023-24 season, scoring a goal and providing an assist as they finished 10th in League Two.

Head coach Des Buckingham expressed his excitement about Currie joining the team, stating that he fits perfectly into their style of play and brings a wealth of experience in league football. Buckingham believes that Currie will have a positive impact on the current group and help continue to develop the team’s culture and environment.

Ed Waldron, Head of Recruitment at Oxford United, described Currie as an “exciting full-back” and revealed that the club had been monitoring him for some time. With Oxford United set to compete in the second tier of English football for the first time in 25 years following their victory over Bolton in the League One play-off final in May, Waldron is confident that Currie will be a valuable addition to the squad.
