Paris Olympics: IDFM announces bonuses for RATP employees, with amounts varying depending on profession and responsibilities

After three months of negotiations, RATP’s majority unions have reached an agreement with management on bonuses for their 19,000 employees. The bonus amounts vary depending on the profession and responsibilities of the employees. For example, metro drivers can receive a bonus of up to 2,500 euros if they do not miss more than four days of work between July 22 and September 8. If they miss more than four days, they will receive a bonus of 1,600 euros.

The CGT-RATP has also announced the results obtained for various professions within the organization. Switchers, drivers, operational managers, regulators, and security agents will receive bonuses provided they meet certain criteria. Negotiations for bus drivers and station agents are expected to be concluded soon.

Bonuses allocated to other sectors such as police and AP-HP have already been announced. The overall budget for increased transport offer during the Games is estimated to be 250 million euros, with additional revenue expected from Olympic passes sold to visitors. Free transport was initially promised when Paris applied to host the Games in 2017 but was not within the budget. To finance the additional costs, IDFM is relying on revenues generated from Olympic passes sold to visitors. Additional benefits include bonuses for vacation taken during specific periods and an increase in the usual bonus for air traffic controllers.
