The tech industry has become an integral part of society, and companies, nonprofits, and trade groups are taking steps to showcase their achievements through annual reports. Technical.ly, a news outlet that focuses on the tech industry in Philadelphia and other markets, is no exception. For years, they published annual print magazines tied to big event series they produced such as Philly Tech Week and Baltimore Innovation Week. These magazines combined local tech industry news with startup community updates and organizational news, reflecting the importance of the tech industry as more than just an industry but also as a community.
However, after a period of change due to the pandemic, Technical.ly is back with something new. They are releasing their inaugural State of the Philadelphia Tech Economy Report, which will be published for each of the markets they serve. This report is made possible by support from various organizations including the City of Philadelphia Department of Commerce, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Morgan Lewis, the Penn Center for Innovation
