On a Saturday night, 46 dogs were in dire need of rescue in Fairfield. The incident took place at a business complex on Bloomfield Avenue near Route 46. As the video shows, the police officers arrived without any fire safety equipment but still bravely entered the Pio Costa Industrial Complex to save the dogs from danger.
The fire that caused the smoke started in a nearby convenience and smoke shop before spreading to other businesses in the area, including the kennel where the dogs were kept. In the video, we can see how quickly and efficiently the officers broke through a security door to gain access to the kennels and began searching for and rescuing each dog one by one.
Despite their bravery, one of the officers suffered from smoke inhalation during the rescue operation and had to be taken to hospital. However, all 46 dogs were successfully rescued and transported to a different facility where they received medical attention from veterinarians. The quick thinking and brave actions of these police officers ensured that all animals were safe and out of harm’s way.
