Qatar Airways has been named the best airline in the world for 2024 by Skytrax, surpassing Singapore Airlines which held the top spot in 2023. Interestingly, no airlines from the US made it into the top 20 list.
The World Airline Awards, based on feedback from travelers from over 100 countries on more than 350 airlines, were announced at a gala in London. The majority of airlines in the top 20 were from Asia and the Middle East, with European carriers also represented.
European airlines accounted for seven of the top 20 positions, with Turkish Airlines as the highest ranked in seventh place. Notably, no US airlines made it into the top 20, with Delta Air Lines falling to 21st place and United falling to 56th place.
