Maine baseball team successfully sets new world record for largest whoopie pie

In June of last year, a Maine baseball team made history by setting a Guinness World Record for the longest line of whoopie pies. The Portland Sea Dogs collaborated with the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival and Wicked Whoopies to achieve this feat. Even though the attempt was successful, it took several months to have the record verified by Guinness World Records.

The team is thrilled to announce that they will receive the official certificate for setting the record on Tuesday. A total of 2,121 whoopie pies were lined up in a straight line before being rearranged into the shape of a giant whoopie pie. These delicious treats were then served to attendees at the baseball team’s field.

Whoopie pies are a beloved delicacy in Maine and consist of two cake-like cookies with a creamy filling in between. This record-breaking accomplishment has brought recognition to the team and the tasty treat that is synonymous with the state of Maine.
