On April 25, 2024, construction will begin on the first McDonald’s west of Interstate 29 in Sioux Falls. The new restaurant will be located on the northeast corner of 41st Street and Ellis Road. Jordan Hartshorn, the franchisee for McDonald’s in Sioux Falls, expressed his excitement for the new location as it will better serve the west side of the city, create job opportunities and be situated in a prime area with residential neighborhoods and schools nearby.
Hartshorn emphasized that catering to digital customers was crucial when designing this new store from scratch. He stated that their focus would be on digital orders, curbside delivery with six to nine curbside pickup stalls and three to four courier pickup stalls. The design of the new McDonald’s will resemble the one on East 26th Street, but with a slightly smaller dining area.
The plan is to hire a crew of around 60 to 70 people, including management positions. Some team members may transfer from other locations within the organization to create growth opportunities for them. The new restaurant is expected to open later in the summer to meet the needs of the community.
McDonald’s has been successful in filling roles in other locations in Sioux Falls, with staffing numbers increasing, low turnover rates and high applicant flow. Job positions for the new restaurant are now being posted for those interested in joining the team. More information can be found by clicking here.
