Cutting-edge MRI technology now offered in Missoula

Missoula, Montana – According to data from the American Association for Cancer Research, over 2 million Americans were diagnosed with cancer last year, with about half of those cases being preventable. In light of this, we had a conversation with Dr. Tim McCue, Radiologist in Chief at Montana Imaging Center in Missoula, about a groundbreaking new technology – a full body MRI exam that scans from the top of the head to the top of the knees in search of potential health issues or diseases.

Dr. McCue shares that this full-body MRI scan is the only one of its kind offered in the state, and with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence, it can check for a range of conditions, including cancer, neurological disorders, liver diseases, and cardiovascular issues. Whether an individual is taking preventative measures or seeking peace of mind about a new symptom, Dr. McCue emphasizes that the scan is available to anyone interested.

“The interesting thing about the whole body scan is that it can be for everybody,” Dr. McCue explained. “There are older individuals who are concerned about cancer and want peace of mind, as there are cancers like pancreatic and ovarian cancer that do not have effective screening methods. Similarly, younger, active individuals are looking to be proactive and ensure their body is healthy.”

It is significant to note that Montana Imaging will begin offering cat scans this week. Dr. McCue highlights that since the center’s establishment one year ago
