MechWarrior 5: Clans has been recently unveiled by developer Piranha Games at GDC 2024, showcasing new footage of the game powered by Unreal Engine 5. The upcoming title promises an exciting new experience, with a Clan Invasion storyline, a first in the franchise since MechWarrior 2 was released in 1995.

Players will embark on a journey as a young pilot who has just completed training on Huntress, the homeworld of the Smoke Jaguar clan. Joining a squad known as Star, consisting of five pilots from the same clan, players will partake in a full-scale invasion of the Inner Sphere, a crucial event in the BattleTech universe. Throughout the campaign, players will witness their pilots grow stronger as they explore various planets with diverse biomes, offering a sandbox-style gameplay reminiscent of Mercenaries.

MechWarrior 5: Clans introduces Clan BattleMechs and Technology, providing a fresh and dynamic gameplay experience. Progression and customization have been enhanced, allowing players to fine-tune ‘Mech loadouts through a revamped MechLab, Hardpoint, and OmniPod system.
