Samsung is set to reveal the full details of its upcoming smart ring on July 10, following months of teasers. Some screenshots have already leaked online, giving a glimpse into the health-tracking capabilities of the device. These images were obtained from a deep dive into the code for the Samsung Health app for Android. While this code has been added to the app, it is not yet enabled or visible to users.
From the screenshots, it is clear that the Samsung Health app will be able to measure heart rate, stress, predict periods, and take skin temperature readings through the Galaxy Ring. Additionally, snore detection is also included, with a combination of the Galaxy Ring and a connected Android phone handling the audio detection process.
When compared to the Galaxy Watch 6, it appears that the ring will offer similar functionality but in a more compact and lightweight form factor. This could make it a more comfortable option for users who find smartwatches bulky. Ultimately, the choice between a smart ring and a smartwatch will come down to personal preference, as each has its own advantages.
The upcoming Samsung Unpacked event on July 10 is expected to provide more details about the Galaxy Ring, as well as new foldable phones and smartwatches.
