Seahawks reach agreement with Laviska Shenault on contract terms

The Seattle Seahawks have recently added a new player to their roster, Laviska Shenault, who has shown promise in the return game. Shenault was a second-round pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020 and has experience as a kick returner, averaging 27.7 yards per return on nine attempts over the last two seasons. Last season alone, he had six returns in eight games.

Seattle’s decision to sign Shenault is an indication of their interest in strengthening their special teams and adding versatility to their roster. Although he has shown promise as a receiver, catching 121 passes for 1,219 yards with five touchdowns in his first two seasons, his production decreased during his time with the Panthers. In the last two years, Shenault only had 37 catches for 332 yards with one touchdown.

However, with the new kick return rule being passed, Shenault’s value may see an increase with the Seahawks. His experience as a kick returner and potential as a receiver could make him a valuable asset for the team moving forward. With his addition to the roster, Seattle is now poised to have a strong special teams unit that can contribute to their overall success on the field.
