Byron Murphy II, the newest addition to the Seattle Seahawks, joined Brock and Salk on Seattle Sports 710AM the morning after being drafted. He expressed his gratitude for being selected at No. 16, something that wasn’t expected by many, including Seahawks’ president of football operations/general manager John Schneider.
Murphy talked about feeling blessed and that he was living the dream. Hailing from DeSoto, Texas, Murphy highlighted the football culture in his hometown, saying they produce the best talent. He shared his high school and college experiences, mentioning that he graduated in three years from Texas with the help of taking college classes since his freshman year of high school.
When asked about fitting into the Seahawks’ scheme, Murphy expressed his excitement. The d-line coach sees him as a three-tech, a position he loves playing and has experience with from his years at Texas.
