Arizona Cardinals linebacker Kyzir White, who has been a crucial player for the team this season, suffered an injury during Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. White tore his bicep and will have to sit out the rest of the year, as confirmed by head coach Jonathan Gannon on Monday.
Gannon praised White for his efforts to play through the injury before eventually leaving the game, calling it “gut-wrenching” to watch. With a team-high 90 tackles, two sacks, nine tackles for loss, and three passes defensed, White’s absence will be felt on the field.
Despite this setback, White is signed with the team until 2024. In his absence, Krys Barnes stepped into his spot while Josh Woods took over calling the defense after White had to leave the game. The Cardinals will have to adjust without White’s presence on the field for the remainder of the season.
