Spotlighting Santa Maria’s Top Small Businesses: Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum

In recognition of their outstanding contributions to the community, Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum have been named the Santa Maria businesses of the quarter for April through June 2024.

Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service, located at 320 Oak St. in Santa Maria, was founded by Daniel Keuma in 1991 after he relocated from Hawaii. The company has since grown from a one-truck operation to seven trucks and eight employees, offering services to both residential and commercial customers. They are committed to giving back to the community by supporting local events and charities.

Trojan Petroleum, located at 1665 West Betteravia Rd. in Santa Maria, was founded 43 years ago by Bud and Ebba Richards. The company has become a full-service petroleum distributor specializing in delivering fuel to farm locations and job sites throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. They also operate as an independently owned Pacific Pride cardlock site with 15 delivery trucks. Trojan Petroleum is actively involved in local civic groups.

The recognition program, which is run by the Chamber of Commerce, selects two local small businesses each quarter that meet certain criteria, including having fewer than 20 employees, being in operation for at least five years, being physically located within the city limits, and being a member of the local Chamber of Commerce in good standing. This recognition provides these businesses with valuable exposure and serves as a reminder to the community of the unique and diverse businesses that call Santa Maria home.

To view the full ceremony honoring these businesses, you can tune into the City’s livestream of the Tuesday City Council meeting on April 16, 2024, at Santa Maria City Hall Chambers. For more information about this event or any other related topics, visit CityofSantaMaria.org.
