An innovative new technology called BRI&Va has been introduced by Tesem Group, a company that specializes in aluminium beauty packaging. Designed to enhance the shine of Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) aluminium packaging, this technology is currently patent-pending and has been developed over a period of two years.
Tesem claims that the BRI&Va technology can give high-percentage aluminium PCR a glossy finish equivalent to that of brand new anodized aluminium. This allows brands to maintain the luxurious appearance of shiny metal packaging while also promoting sustainability. The company asserts that this technology encourages the use of high-content PCR and helps clients achieve their sustainability goals. By substituting virgin aluminium with 20% PCR aluminium, Tesem claims that there can be a significant decrease of 78.9% in CO2 emissions.
Currently, the technology is in the process of scaling up, with Tesem partnering closely with Chanel, who has shown interest in incorporating the BRI&Va technology into their packaging. The new technology will be demonstrated at Tesem’s booth during the LuxePack Monaco show, scheduled to take place from September 30 to October 2 this year.
