Lineman’s journey to health leads to newfound appreciation for football

In the summer of 2022, Bryce Goodner, a standout freshman from McMinn County, faced a serious health concern that sidelined him for the entire season. Goodner, an offensive lineman for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, was diagnosed with the health issue on the first day of preseason camp but did not know exactly what was wrong at the time.

Despite his absence, Goodner’s impact was felt on the team as he was a key player in 2022. However, his health condition forced him to take a step back in 2023 and miss the entire season. The UTC offensive lineman’s presence was sorely missed by the team and his absence was felt throughout the season.

Goodner’s determination and spirit were evident as he fought to overcome this obstacle. Despite not being able to showcase his skills on the field during the 2023 schedule, Goodner’s health concerns were given top priority and he remained committed to his recovery.
