In a recent article on Yahoo Sports, Jori Epstein discusses the Buffalo Bills’ decision to trade star receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. The trade was motivated by both teams’ desire to contend as soon as possible. While Buffalo is not in full rebuild mode and sees quarterback Josh Allen as their window to compete, they are trying to avoid turning a three-year project into a five-year one by trading Diggs.
On the other hand, Houston has a great quarterback on a rookie contract and more cap space to pay a receiver like Diggs. The Texans have a talented roster, and executives are optimistic that Diggs’ competitiveness will benefit the team. Although there may be questions about having enough targets for Diggs, it is seen as a good problem to have if you are a Houston fan. Both Buffalo and Houston have plans in place, and it will be fascinating to see how they execute them in the coming seasons.
