Downtown Orrville Business Seeks Permission to Offer Tattoo Services in Salon

Freckle tattoos have become increasingly popular among people looking for a natural, sun-kissed look. However, some people have expressed concerns that these tattoos may age poorly and become unattractive in the long run, similar to “tramp stamps.”

In Orrville, there is a proposal to add tattoo and body piercing shops to the downtown area. A public hearing will be held to discuss this addition. Meanwhile, Genesis Beauty Salons are also looking to expand their services by offering microblading, a semi-permanent eyebrow process that is categorized as a tattoo under Health Department regulations.

The request for microblading will be reviewed by the Orrville Planning Commission before undergoing a final decision by the City Council. The council has approved the sale of approximately 4.9 acres to GMEG LLC for the construction of an industrial building near Hostetler Road.

The Orrville Fire Department will be conducting monthly tests of tornado sirens on the first Monday of each month, starting on May 6. Safety-Service Director Steve Wheeler assured the community that the city is prepared for the upcoming total solar eclipse, with plans in place for potential traffic management and additional staff availability.

The next council meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15, at City Hall where further discussions on these matters will take place.
