The Minnesota Twins have made a decision to bring infield prospect Brooks Lee to join the major league team for his debut. This news was announced on Wednesday, following an injury to Royce Lewis, who landed on the injured list due to left groin tightness. Lee, who was the eighth overall pick in the 2022 draft, missed the beginning of the season due to a back injury but has been making up for lost time since his return. In his 20 games at the Triple-A level, he has been impressive with a .329/.394/.635 batting line, including seven home runs and excellent plate discipline.
With experience at various infield positions, Lee is expected to settle in at third or second base in the long run. CBS Sports recently named him as the top prospect most likely to debut in the majors, following another prospect’s promotion. Despite a crowded roster, Lee’s talent and versatility make him a strong contender for a spot on the Twins’ big-league lineup. The team, currently six games behind in the American League Central with a 48-37 record, is set to continue their series against the Detroit Tigers with Lee in their ranks.
