USA Achieves Two Gold Medals and Five Total Medals Leading the Way

The United States rose to the top of the medal standings at the 2024 World Aquatic Championships, securing two golds on night two. Nic Fink won the men’s 100 breast gold, and Kate Douglass earned gold in the women’s 200 IM. This brought the US total to five medals. Claire Curzan and Michael Andrew also contributed to the US medal count by picking up two silver medals.

Germany secured their first gold medal and their first women’s world title in 15 years as Angelina Kohler won the women’s 100 fly. Portugal also made history with Diogo Ribeiro becoming the country’s first World Champion by winning the men’s 50 butterfly.

As of the end of the 2023 Worlds, Australia was at the top of the medal table with 13 gold medals and 25 total. They are aiming for their first gold on night three after falling short so far.
