Texans acquire Stefon Diggs in trade with Bills

The Buffalo Bills have decided to trade wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. In exchange, the Bills will receive a 2025 second-round pick originally from Minnesota. Diggs is currently signed through 2027 and was originally a fifth-round pick in 2015.

Diggs had an impressive first season with the Bills in 2020, leading the league in catches (127) and yards (1535). However, his production slightly decreased in 2023, but he still managed to achieve over 100 catches (107) and 1,000 yards (1,183) for the fourth year in a row. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for six consecutive seasons.

The decision to part ways with Diggs comes as a surprise, as he is widely considered one of the best receivers in the NFL. However, the Bills have made the decision to prioritize their young quarterback Josh Allen’s development and have chosen not to keep Diggs on the roster. Instead, they will receive a valuable asset in a second-round pick that can help them build for the future.
