In the Regina neighborhood of Minneapolis, three suspects were arrested for a carjacking that occurred at a business. The suspects, a woman and two teenage girls, punched and kicked the victim as she was closing up her store before stealing her vehicle. The incident led to a brief police chase, ending with the suspects being apprehended near Clinton Avenue and East 45th Street.
According to law enforcement officials, the three suspects are linked to at least 20 criminal activity over the past four years. They have been accused of stolen property, car theft, and aggravated robbery. Police Chief Brian O’Hara stated that law enforcement will continue to arrest those who commit such crimes, regardless of their age or past arrest history.
The City’s Crime Dashboard reports that there have been 10 reported carjackings in the past 28 days across Minneapolis. This year has seen a decrease of more than 20% compared to the same time last year, with 76 reported carjackings so far.
