Top Defensive Back DJ Pickett’s College Choice Up in the Air: LSU, Georgia, Oregon and Miami Compete for His Final Decision

The highly sought-after five-star safety from Zephyrhills, Florida, DJ Pickett, has not yet made a decision on his college choice. He is the top player in the country and the No. 1 defensive back at LSU’s 2025 recruiting board.

Pickett’s final four schools are LSU, Georgia, Oregon, and Miami. On3 ranks him as the No. 6 player in the nation. LSU hosted him for an official visit on May 31 and at one point, it seemed like they were leading the race for his decision. However, after visiting his other finalists, Pickett’s choice is now up in the air.

There are no crystal ball projections for Pickett’s decision. While LSU is slightly ahead of Miami and Oregon in the On3 recruiting prediction machine, nothing is certain until he makes his announcement on July 17th.
