Tower Health Sues Back: Court Dismisses Lawsuit Alleging Health Information Sharing with Facebook

On Wednesday, Judge John F. Murphy of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled that plaintiffs Patrick Santoro and Jessica Landis had failed to demonstrate that their sensitive health information was disclosed by Tower Health to Meta Platforms Inc. As a result, their claims of negligence, intrusion upon seclusion, and violations of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act were dismissed without an opportunity to amend the lawsuit.

Santoro and Landis had accused Tower Health of sharing their personal health information with Meta Platforms Inc., leading to the lawsuit. However, the court determined that the information in question did not meet the criteria to be classified as sensitive health information, resulting in the case being dismissed. Despite their efforts, Tower Health successfully defended itself against these allegations and ultimately prevailed in the lawsuit.
