Teigan Martin, a talented young athlete from Mayer, Minnesota, tragically lost his life in a car crash at the age of 20. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office reported that Martin was found after his 2013 Black BMW M5 crashed into a ditch on a county road. Despite wearing his seatbelt, Martin did not survive the crash, and a full investigation is ongoing.
The University of South Florida football program expressed profound sorrow over the loss of Teigan Martin in a statement, noting that his teammates, coaches, staff, and all who knew him are deeply affected by his passing. USF coach Alex Golesh extended their deepest sympathies to Martin’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Before joining USF in 2023, Martin transferred from Liberty but did not play during the previous season. He had spent one year with the Flames without seeing any game time in 2022. The Bulls had a successful 2023 season, going 7-6 and winning the Boca Raton Bowl after a challenging 1-11 season in 2022.
Teigan Martin played football at Mayer Lutheran High School, where he helped secure the Minnesota Class 1A football title during his senior year in 2021. He was considered a two-star prospect in the class of 2022 by Rivals, showcasing his potential as a talented athlete. His passing has left a significant impact on the football community and beyond.
