Trine University Launches New Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science Degree Program to Address Global Environmental Challenges

Trine University’s Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences recently introduced a new Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science degree program. This program draws on the university’s strengths in science and engineering to equip students with the necessary skills to understand and address the environmental challenges facing our planet. Classes for this exciting new program will begin in August.

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at Trine University prepares students for various careers in fields related to the environment, law, health and safety, or public policy. According to Lexie Staten, dean of the School of Health Sciences, this program focuses on examining and improving the health of both the planet and its inhabitants. It is crucial to train professionals who can collect, analyze, and interpret data related to the environment and the impact of human activities on it.

Students in this degree program will have hands-on fieldwork and research projects that will prepare them for careers as environmental scientists, conservation scientists, environmental educators, lawyers, environmental policy analysts or environmental health and safety specialists. With job growth projected above average in this field over the next decade by the Bureau of Labor Services, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at Trine University offers promising career prospects for graduates.

Trine University has a strong track record of preparing students for employment opportunities. Over the past 11 years, more than 99% of Trine graduates have secured employment or continued their education within six months of graduation.
