Donald Trump seeks to regain immunity in the Capitol storming case through Supreme Court efforts

American media is reporting that former US President Donald Trump has filed an appeal to the Supreme Court challenging a lower court ruling that he does not have immunity from prosecution in connection with the 2020 election. The decision was made by the D.C. Court of Appeals on February 6, which ruled that any immunity in force during his presidency did not provide protection from future criminal prosecution. The nine Supreme Court judges, three of whom were appointed by Trump during his tenure as president, will ultimately decide the issue of immunity.
