The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is hosting a mental health resource festival in Amarillo on Saturday. This event, known as the Turn To festival, will showcase local resources and substance use prevention organizations in the community.
The aim of the festival is to provide family-friendly activities and events that help reduce stress, address mental health concerns, and connect community members with necessary resources. The festival will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Amarillo College FirstBank Southwest Center on S. Washington St.
Michelle Alletto, Chief Program and Services Officer at HHSC, emphasized the importance of accessing behavioral health resources within one’s own community during her speech at the festival. She highlighted that the Turn To campaign is an opportunity for Texans to access support where they live.
