UW Oshkosh softball on the brink of Super Regionals with one win needed

In the NCAA Tournament Regional round of 2023, the UW Oshkosh softball team suffered a heartbreaking loss that left them just short of advancing. But in 2024, they are determined to finish what they started and have called their mission ‘unfinished business’.

The Titans began their journey with a win against the College of Saint Benedict before securing a thrilling 1-0 victory over Illinois Wesleyan. The combination of pitchers Sydney Nemetz and Brianna Bougie led UW Oshkosh to a shutout against Illinois Wesleyan, despite not getting a hit off their opponent’s pitcher until the fifth inning. However, the team displayed resilience and clutch performance when it mattered most, scoring the game-winning run in the seventh inning with an RBI double from Morgan Rau.

As they head into Saturday’s games, UW Oshkosh is focused on advancing to the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament. They are prepared to face any opponent that comes their way, knowing that they only need to win one game to move forward while their opponents will have to beat them twice. With determination and skill, UW Oshkosh is ready to make their mark and continue on their journey towards success.
