Idaho’s rural economy is a complex topic that can have different meanings for different people, and Labor Economist Ryan Whitesides will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, Feb. 13th to discuss its various components. The webinar will take place from 11 a.m. to noon MT and will cover topics such as demographics, population, and the different industries that make up rural Idaho’s economy, including public and private sectors, farms, ranches, and national monuments.
Whitesides emphasizes that while agriculture is an important part of rural Idaho’s economy, it is not the only component. There are other industries such as forests, community gateways to national parks, and more that contribute to the region’s economic growth. Those interested in attending the webinar can register for the event on Zoom, and information about future webinars and registration events can be found on the department’s calendar of events.
