The 2024 World Triathlon Championship Series and Mixed Relay Series Montreal events have been cancelled, leaving a void in the schedule. Despite this, the World Triathlon Para Series Montreal on June 29 will still take place as planned. In response to the cancellation, the World Triathlon Cup Wehai on September 27 has been upgraded to a WTCS event, thanks to the China Triathlon Sports Association for stepping up as hosts.
Due to last-minute cancellations, points for the 2024 World Triathlon Championship Series ranking will only be awarded at four remaining events: WTCS Yokohama, WTCS Cagliari, WTCS Hamburg and WTCS Weihai. Points will also be granted at the Continental Championships, Paris 2024 Olympic Games and Championship Finals Torremolinos-Andalucia. The athletes with the highest points accumulated from three of these six events plus the Championship Finals will be crowned as 2024 World Triathlon Champions.
The complete schedule for the remaining events in the series is as follows:
– May 11: World Triathlon Championship Series Yokohama
– May 25: World Triathlon Championship Series Cagliari
– July 13-14: World Triathlon Championship Series Hamburg
– September 27: World Triathlon Championship Series Weihai
– October 17-20: World Triathlon Championship Finals Torremolinos-Andalucia
