Vikings add DL Jalen Redmond to roster, release WR Devron Harper

The Minnesota Vikings made a roster move on Tuesday by signing free agent defensive lineman Jalen Redmond. In a corresponding move, the team waived receiver Devron Harper.

Redmond comes to the Vikings after playing for the UFL’s Arlington Renegades this spring, where he had an impressive performance with 18 tackles, five tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in four games.

Prior to his time with the Renegades, Redmond initially entered the NFL in 2023 with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma. Although he spent the offseason program with the Panthers, he was waived in August. During his college career at Oklahoma, Redmond accumulated 71 tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries while starting 19 of the 36 games he played from 2018-2022.

On the other hand, Harper joined the Vikings this spring as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Mercer University.
