Lions Captured in Warriors Cage: Latest Updates on News, Sports, and Jobs

On Wednesday, West Branch’s third baseman Beau Alazaus drove in four runs, leading his team to a 10-0 victory over Minerva at Carl Michael Field. With two hits under his belt, including a two-run single in the fourth and a double in the sixth, Alazaus was instrumental in West Branch’s success. Hunter Shields also contributed with two hits and three runs scored, while senior Jaxon Robb made a triumphant return to the field after receiving medical clearance earlier in the day and went 2-for-2 with two runs.

Anthony Perry earned the win for West Branch on the mound, pitching a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks. He also added to his team’s lead with a two-run single in the sixth. With this victory, West Branch is now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, while Minerva falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the EBC.

West Branch scored single runs in each of the first three innings, thanks to Shields scoring on a wild pitch in the first and Boston Mulinix walking and eventually scoring on a fielder’s choice in the second. Both Biskup and Mulinix had two stolen bases during the game. On the other hand, Minerva’s Brayden Wood went 2-for-3 at bat but took the loss on the mound after giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits in three innings.

Looking ahead, West Branch will face Marlington next Tuesday as they continue their dominance in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. The final score of this game was Minerva 0 and West Branch 10.
