Operational Disruptions Plague Whatsapp

Whatsapp, the popular messaging service owned by Meta, is currently facing issues with its platform. Reports of problems on the Downdetector website show over 20,000 issues being reported by users. The disruptions started around 9:10 PM Finnish time according to Whatsapp’s official status site. While there have been reports of problems in other Meta services like Instagram, the number of issues is significantly higher compared to Whatsapp.

The technology site The Verge reported that the problems with Whatsapp are specifically related to establishing a connection while other Meta services such as Instagram, Threads and Facebook are not experiencing similar issues. This is not the first time that Meta’s services have faced widespread disruptions, as similar issues occurred in early March affecting Instagram, Facebook and Threads.

Despite ongoing disruptions, users are encouraged to stay updated on Whatsapp’s status through official channels. Meta is working diligently to address these problems and ensure that users can continue to use the messaging service without interruption.
