Eversource working diligently to restore power

On Friday, Windsor, Connecticut was still reeling from the powerful thunderstorms that hit on Wednesday. Residents and businesses were attempting to recover and return to normalcy, but damage was widespread. A tree had crashed through a home on Robin Road, leaving a mess behind that would require significant cleanup efforts.

Eversource reported that tens of thousands of people were left without power after the storm. While progress had been made in restoring electricity, there were still a couple thousand customers waiting for their power to be restored. Local businesses were also feeling the impact of the storms, with some having to throw out inventory due to power outages affecting their ability to keep ingredients cool.

Despite the challenges faced by businesses and residents, power crews were working hard to restore electricity as quickly as possible to minimize the storm’s impact on the community. Business owners in the area expressed surprise at the severity of the storm and its effects on their operations. Michael Androw from E&D Pizza Company lamented the loss of their inventory ahead of a busy “pizza Friday,” noting that they would have to start from scratch in preparing for the day.
