Winter Vinecki of the United States earned her third individual win of the season in the aerials event in Lac-Beauport, Canada. The competition was held on a day with rain and clouds, which forced athletes to adjust their game plans.
The U.S. team had a strong showing, with five women and two men advancing to the finals. Winter Vinecki qualified in second place on Sunday after missing out on the previous day’s finals.
In the finals, Vinecki almost lost her balance but managed to maintain her composure and earn enough points to advance into the super finals. Chris Lillis also advanced into the super finals after falling hard in the finals but avoiding injury.
In the final round, Vinecki came out on top by performing a back lay-full-full as the only woman attempting a triple. This was her third individual win and fourth overall win of the season, earning her the yellow leader’s bib.
