In the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship, Ohio State’s No. 15 women’s basketball team emerged victorious over East Carolina with a final score of 79-55. Leading the way for the Buckeyes was Jacy Sheldon with 20 points, while Taylor Thierry contributed 14 points and eight rebounds.

Ohio State started strong, scoring the first 10 points of the game and maintaining a comfortable lead at the end of the first quarter with a score of 21-11. However, East Carolina’s Synia Johnson led a comeback in the second quarter, scoring eight of her 14 points to bring ECU within three points at halftime.

The second half saw Ohio State regain control, scoring 11 of the first 13 points to take a commanding 49-34 lead. They maintained this advantage for the remainder of the game, ultimately securing a convincing victory in the tournament.

Rebeka Mikulasikova contributed 12 points for Ohio State, while Cotie McMahon and Rikki Harris each had 11. For East Carolina, Synia Johnson and Amiya Joyner scored 14 and 12 points respectively.

The game also saw several technical fouls, including an ejection for ECU’s Jade Tillman after a hard foul in the third quarter.

Overall, Ohio State’s impressive performance earned them a well-deserved win in this tournament.
