Wrexham’s Summer Tour to North America: Star Striker Paul Mullin Sidelined by Surgery

Wrexham’s three-time back-to-back top scorer and player of the season, Paul Mullin, will be missing the club’s summer tour to North America. Mullin is currently recovering from minor spinal surgery that was done to address a long-term lower-back/hamstring issue. The surgery took place last month with the hope that the 29-year-old will be fully fit for the upcoming season in League One.

After their matches in California, Wrexham will travel to Canada, specifically to owner Ryan Reynolds’ hometown of Vancouver. There, they will take on the Major League Soccer (MLS) side Whitecaps. The decision for Mullin to undergo surgery was made after three years of managing the injury. During off-season training, it became clear that surgery was the best option moving forward for the striker to fully heal and return to form.

No specific timeline has been set for Mullin’s return, but the club is optimistic that he will be ready for the majority of the new season. Wrexham’s tour kicks off in Santa Barbara where they will face off against Bournemouth on 20 July. The team will then stay in California to play against Chelsea in Santa Clara just four days later.
