Young and Talented: 16-Year-Old Quincy Wilson Selected for Team USA Relay Pool at Paris Olympics

Sixteen-year-old Quincy Wilson has been selected to be a part of the Team USA relay pool for the upcoming Olympics in Paris. Despite not qualifying for the 400 meters at the recent U.S. Olympic trials, Wilson will have the opportunity to run in the 4×400 relay.

Wilson’s impressive performance at the trials, where he ran under 45 seconds in multiple 400-meter heats, earned him a spot in the relay pool. After receiving a call from the committee responsible for relay pool decisions, Wilson was asked to be prepared to run any leg at any time during the relay event.

Wilson is a junior at Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland and will be the youngest American male track athlete at the Olympics. Excited about his selection, Wilson shared the news on his Instagram page, declaring “WE GOING TO THE OLYMPICS.”

Olympic hurdler Rai Benjamin expressed his belief that Wilson deserves this opportunity due to his outstanding performance. With his coach confident in his abilities and track record in relay races, Wilson is looking forward to representing Team USA on the Olympic stage in Paris.
