In the early hours of the morning, a powerful thunderstorm hit the Zagreb area. The sudden and intense rain woke many people up, causing a sleepless night. One Twitter user described the storm as an apocalypse, while another was surprised to find himself woken up by thunder at 3 am.

The storm was caused by an announced change in weather and cyclones that moved over the area. Dunja Plačko Vršnak from DHMZ confirmed that this weather is appropriate for the time of year. However, some users on social media thought that the thunder was an earthquake due to its strength and intensity.

To confirm this, EMSC tweeted about the incident and many users left similar messages about how strong and loud the thunder was, especially in the northern part of Zagreb where it shook violently and made a loud sound. Some users also reported slight shaking in Stenjevac.

Overall, this thunderstorm caused quite a stir among people in Zagreb and its surrounding areas, but fortunately no major damages were reported.
