ABC News has lost a valuable member of its team as Senior Meteorologist Rob Marciano announced his departure from the network. Marciano, who had been with ABC for a decade, shared his weather insights on various shows like “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Good Morning America,” and “Good Morning America: Weekend Edition.”
Prior to joining ABC in 2014, Marciano co-hosted Entertainment Tonight for nearly two years. His most recent reporting focused on Shreveport, Louisiana’s recovery from a destructive storm in June 2023, which aired on “ABC World News Tonight” and the ABC News website last week.
Marciano’s exit from ABC is not surprising, as he hinted at his plans to contribute across all ABC shows and platforms during the week in a September Instagram post celebrating his 10th year with the network. He shared that he wanted more quality time with his children on weekends and teased an exciting new project with NatGeo that would involve exploring fascinating topics.
A representative for ABC News declined to comment on Marciano’s departure, but USA TODAY has reached out to Marciano’s representative for a statement. It is unclear what specific reasons led to Marciano’s departure from ABC or what his future plans may be.
