Albany Area Primary Health Care, Inc. has been granted $5,187,269 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for its Health Center Program. The grant was announced by Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), who emphasized the importance of having health centers in rural areas for timely care and adherence to treatment plans.
The purpose of this grant is to support Albany Area Primary Health Care in expanding its services, opening new offices, and recruiting more healthcare providers in Southwest Georgia. This funding will also ensure that patients in 13 counties in the region have access to quality healthcare.
Albany Area Primary Health Care is one of the largest Community Health Centers in Georgia and Southwest Georgia, dedicated to providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality primary health care services to individuals and families regardless of their financial status. As community-based and patient-directed organizations, health resources and services administration-funded health centers play a vital role in meeting the healthcare needs of communities across the country.
