Apple is currently developing a new stylus that will be compatible with its Apple Vision Pro viewer, which was launched in February in the United States. The stylus, which has already undergone internal testing, will have support for the operating system visionOS, which is the foundation of the Vision Pro viewer.
The Vision Pro viewer is Apple’s venture into mixed reality (MR) and was announced in June of the previous year. This viewer utilizes spatial computing technology, features a three-dimensional user interface, and allows interaction with applications using hands, voice, and eyes.
Upon its launch, Apple expressed its intention to revolutionize how people work, collaborate, connect, relive memories, and enjoy entertainment with the Vision Pro viewer. The company aimed to create the most advanced consumer electronics device ever.
In order to enhance the capabilities of the Vision Pro viewer, Apple has developed a new version of its stylus that will be compatible with drawing applications on the visionOS operating system like Freeform and Pixelmator. According to a source familiar with the matter to MacRumors, this new stylus will require updated software and Apple is expected to announce it at its developer conference WWDC typically held in June.
