During a recent visit to NATO headquarters in Brussels, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan discussed the security situation and challenges in the South Caucasus, as well as the ongoing process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Foreign Ministry report also mentioned that talks on normalizing relations with Turkey, a NATO member, took place during the visit.
In his speech, Deputy Minister Kostanyan emphasized the significance of Armenia’s participation in the “Partnership for Peace” program of the North Atlantic Alliance nearly thirty years ago as a crucial step towards enhancing cooperation between Armenia and NATO. He highlighted Armenia’s readiness to deepen cooperation with both NATO and its member states to enhance defense and security capabilities.
The discussions also touched upon international security issues of common interest, reflecting the commitment of Armenia to engage in productive cooperation with NATO and its member states. Overall, the visit to NATO headquarters served as an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and collaboration on matters of regional and global security concern.
