Arsonists captured on video setting fire to eyelash salon in Kendall, caught by camera -NBC 6 South Florida

Firefighters rushed to the scene of a horrifying arson attack at an eyelash business in Kendall on Thursday morning. The store, located on the corner of Bird Road and SW 97th Avenue in Olympia Heights, was completely engulfed in flames.

A new surveillance video has been released showing critical moments leading up to the fire. The footage revealed two unidentified men inspecting the store before returning with a rock to break the glass. They then threw gasoline on the building and ignited it, causing significant damage to everything Indira Ortega had built.

Ortega, the owner of the eyelash extension business, spoke with NBC6 about her suspicions regarding the identities of the arsonists but said that they are currently under investigation. She stated that they have a potential lead regarding the individual responsible for destroying her business, which resulted in approximately $45,000 in damages.

Despite the devastating setback, Ortega remains determined not to abandon her plans of reopening her business. When she arrived on the scene, firefighters had already extinguished the flames that had rapidly spread throughout the establishment while suspects fled on a scooter.

Authorities are actively working to gather evidence and identify and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.
