Job opportunities are booming in the Northern regions.

In Italy, the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and Veneto stand out for their corporate well-being and work quality, surpassing even Lombardy in this regard. The Autonomous Province of Trento, Piedmont, and Valle d’Aosta are not far behind. However, Southern Italy’s regions performed poorly and were placed lower in the ranking, with Sardinia being the exception. Unfortunately, Sicily, Calabria, and Basilicata occupied the last three spots in the national rankings.

A recent analysis by CGIA Research Office based on Istat’s BES (Sustainable Fair Wellbeing) report revealed that the job market experienced significant transformations following the pandemic. Companies across the country are facing challenges in finding profiles with adequate skills and therefore focusing more on retaining their employees than ever before. This is being done through various positive actions such as higher salaries, converting fixed-term contracts to permanent ones, offering flexible working hours, using innovative professional tools, promoting career advancement, and providing corporate benefits.

In North Italy’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), there has been a longstanding process to improve corporate well-being for several years. Despite this effort, there is still a trend of employees leaving permanent jobs due to increased competition from other companies that offer better salary offers or less stressful working environments.

According to INPS data, voluntary resignations of private permanent employees under 60 years old have increased significantly in recent years. Many employees choose to leave their current jobs for better salary offers or less stressful working environments elsewhere. This trend highlights how important it is for companies to be attentive to employee needs and create a positive and competitive work environment to retain valuable talent.

Overall, companies must recognize that creating a positive work environment goes beyond just offering attractive compensation packages; it involves building relationships with employees that foster trust and loyalty while promoting their professional growth. By doing so, they can reduce turnover rates and build a stronger workforce that will contribute to long-term success.
