He emphasized that Israel’s military must not advance into population centers and that civilians must be protected at all costs.
The United States, as Israel’s most important ally, has repeatedly warned against a large-scale ground offensive in Rafah. Biden stated that while Israeli soldiers have not yet advanced into population centers, if they do, the US cannot provide support for such actions. He also confirmed that the shipment of ammunition has been halted until the situation is reassessed.
Despite this, the focus is on protecting civilians and ensuring that future actions do not lead to further loss of innocent lives. The Iron Dome missile defense system will continue to be provided by the US as necessary defense equipment for Israel. However, any actions taken by Israel that harm civilians will not be supported by the US government.
