Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival to feature more than 40 free events

The Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival is currently taking place across southern Nevada from April 26 to May 4. With over 40 events planned, participants can enjoy activities such as exploring the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, going behind-the-scenes at the Bellagio Fountains, and interacting with the Director of NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center. Additionally, there will be a community art workshop at Omega Mart at AREA15.

Alexandra Liebman, the director of the festival, believes that science should be brought out of textbooks and into the real world in order to inspire young innovators in the community. She encourages businesses to participate by offering resources, activities and opportunities for youth to learn more about their organization, careers and the science and technology they use.

The festival concludes with a Science and Technology Expo at the World Market Center on May 4th where a $1,000 prize will be awarded to CCSD school with highest student and family attendance. All events are free and open to the public but registration is required due to limited space availability. Interested individuals can view a full list of events on the festival’s website.
