Man admits to breaking into eight businesses in Cambridge

On March 12th, Robert Rust, a 36-year-old man from Stirling Road in Northstowe, Cambridge was arrested for burgling eight businesses. The incidents occurred over the course of several days, with Rust targeting businesses such as takeaways and stores. The police were notified of the break-ins and Rust was remanded in custody for sentencing at Cambridge Crown Court on May 6th.

In addition to Rust’s plea, another man received an 18-month suspended sentence in relation to two of the break-ins. As a result of these incidents, many residents in Cambridge are calling for increased security measures and stricter punishments for those who commit crimes against businesses.
