CompTIA has recently announced the launch of two new learning and certification programs, the Essentials and Expansion series, designed to help individuals enhance and maintain their AI skills. The series covers four AI tech career areas and roles: software development, cybersecurity, systems operations (SysOps), and data analytics, as well as two job roles: prompt engineering and AI systems architecture.
The Essentials Series is set to be released in July 2024 and is applicable to any occupation, including both tech-specific positions and adjacent occupations that rely on technology. This program will cover the basics of AI, including its landscape, available tools, best practices for using them, AI challenges and solutions, the benefits of AI for creativity and work enhancement, and the future implications of AI.
The Expansion Series goes beyond the basics and will focus on advanced skills and technology developments in specific job roles for those with a CompTIA Plus (+) or Pro certification in areas such as security engineering, penetration testing, security analysis, data analysis, systems operations, tech support, AI systems architecture, and prompt engineering.
